The purpose of the Meze is two-fold:
Firstly…
“To complement and enhance the ‘taste of the drink’ (our local favs include Husk Gin & Mount Warning Tonic or Brookies Native Davidson Plum Gin Spritz with Mint & Strawberry).”
Secondly…
The Greek word Meze (meh-ZEH) means a taste or a bite.
It describes small plates of savoury snacks served as a complement to drinks, conversation and laughter.
Everyone at the table shares the tasty morsels, which provide a bountiful variety of flavour and texture sensations. But most of all, sharing food creates a happy, convivial (perhaps noisy) atmosphere for which Greeks are well known.
As a traditional gathering place, the Meze Table is warm, inviting, and always casual.
It’s an atmosphere where the plates are communal, the conversation is spirited, and the pace is leisurely. This style of entertaining encourages people to come and join the party. Tables get pushed together to accommodate newcomers with more plates and drinks ordered.
The Meze Table brings people together to enjoy the parea (pah-REH-ah) or company.
A Blue Ginger Picnics Meze Table introduces you to local food you may never have tasted before.
